Healthy Habits to start in the New Year!

NEW YEAR PIC BLOG

Over the next few days, millions of Americans will make resolutions to better themselves in the New Year.

Self-Improvement is my favorite! However, the reason most people’s New Years’ resolutions fail is because they tryand do everything perfectly right from January 1st. They cut out junk food, exercise seven days a week, and go full force deprivation extreme mode!

The problem is, for most people this isn’t sustainable. February rolls around, and they’re back to their old habits, except this time they feel ashamed that they weren’t able to keep up with such a hard, sudden change.

This year, do your New Years’ Resolutions right. Want to get fit? Healthy? Take it week by week. Make one small healthy change every week in 2017.

Below are eight suggestions to begin your year on a path of energy, health and vitality.

Eat More Organic Fruits And Vegetables, Especially Greens.

Eat raw sometimes or steamed lightly if cooked. One of the common factors I see when doing food journal checks is lack of nutrients aka REAL FOOD. Begin by adding at least one serving of fruits & vegetables per day. Soon you will crave more!

The #1 first thing I do every day, after drinking lemon water is take my JUICE PLUS. Juice Plus adds the nutrition of over 30 fruits, vegetables & grains. How do you get more fruits & veggies in your diet? JUICE PLUS!

Add 10 Minutes of Sleep

Lack of sleep does more than just make you feel tired—it increases your risk for obesity, heart disease and infections. While you sleep, your mind and body make much-needed repairs to your systems. Getting enough sleep helps you think more clearly, improve your focus, and have better reflexes. Start sleeping more by going to bed 10 minutes earlier than usual. Keep adding time until you’re up to 7 or 8 hours a night.

Eat Less Factory Farmed Meat

Are you eating meat? If so, try eating less. But when you do, make sure it’s from humanely treated grass fed livestock and not factory farms that use CAFO (confined animal feeding operations). You also won’t be supporting the animal cruelty of factory farming. And you won’t be eating unhealthy meat products from livestock fed GMO grains instead of grazing on grass, injected with hormones to make them fatter faster, and antibiotics to contain the infectious diseases fermenting in the filth of their miserable, confined quarters.

Stop Making Excuses. Even though you’re busy, you can still find time for healthy habits. In the new year, begin writing down your excuses… and then find solutions for them.

Try Juicing and Smoothies Everyday! They are delicious, filling & deliver life changing nutrients you can feel!

Try the 80/20 Rule. Learning how to make at least 80% of your diet healthy, but allowing 20% splurges helps you keep things in moderation, while still being able to enjoy certain unhealthy foods.

Drink Water Before a Meal. Drink about 16 ounces of water 30 minutes before meals can help with weight loss, new research suggests.

Get Moving! Whether you’re 30 or 60, it’s never too late to start exercising! Put your body in motion and you’ll feel better andindex live longer!
