Total Body Results reveals a Valentine’s Day couple’s workout, offers a FREE Valentine’s Day boot camp session

Valentine’s Day can be a great excuse to hook up and eat chocolate, but Total Body Results trainer, Julia Zammito, knows that feeling fit is sexy. Working out with a partner can be a fun and intimate activity to share with your special someone.

In honor of Valentine’s Day, Total Body Results is going to give you TWO free workouts – one you can do in the comfort of your own home, and one opportunity to come to a FREE Valentine’s Day boot camp session. Join us for free on Monday, Feb. 14 at 6 a.m., 9 a.m. or 5:30 p.m. at Indian Shores beach public access, 193rd Avenue and Gulf Boulevard in front of Indian Shores Town Hall. This one-hour workout is a great way to feel great before you have a romantic date with your honey.

Partner training is a workout that involves performing joint exercises with at least one other person. There are many benefits to partner training, including:

1.) Social support and accountability
2.) No equipment needed
3.) Variety
4.) Breeds competition and drives better results
5.) It’s FUN!

Partner training spices things up in our boot camps. One’s competitive drive comes out whenever people workout with someone else; they are simply pushed to the limit, and there is no better way to make your body change and break out of a frustrating training rut. But partner workshops can be more intimate, too.
The Valentine’s Day workout for couples – tabata style partner training

This 20-minute total body partner workout will consist of all body weight-based exercises. For each exercise at each outlined station below, you will alternate between 20 seconds of work and 10 seconds of rest. You will repeat this 30-second sequence eight times for four total minutes followed by a one-minute rest and transition before moving on to the next station listed:

Station#1 – Partner push-up/row combo
Explanation: Stand behind your partner and hold her feet as she tries to do as many push ups as she can. Then switch roles. For partner rows, stand and hold your partner’s hands as she tries to do as many body weight rows as she can. Then switch roles.

Station #2 – Partner-resisted stationary lunges – static or dynamic
Explanation: Drop into a deep lunge position and hold that pose as your partner applies downward force on your shoulders for you to fight again. Then switch roles.

Station #3 – Partner-resisted pillar circuit
Explanation: One partner lies face down on a mat and gets into a plank position. (Support your body weight while you make your body flat and support yourself on your elbows and your toes.) The other partner applies a downwards force with his or her hands on the other one’s ribcage. Then switch roles.

Station #4 – Partner-resisted squats – static or dynamic
Explanation: Drop into a deep squat position (making sure your feet are about shoulder-width apart and your knees do not protrude beyond your toes) and hold that position as your partner applies downward force on your shoulders to fight against. Then switch roles.
